Burn ban in effect at all state parks due to high risk of wildfire.
The use of wood and charcoal is prohibited during the burn ban. Gas or electric stoves, grills, heaters, fire pits, or lanterns may be used with extreme caution. Call 911 to report a wildfire.
JC Cooper campground will be closed for septic renovations December, 2025 - January, 2026.
Nutbush campground will remain open for camping. Any reservations at JC Cooper will be canceled and refunded. For questions, contact the Kerr Lake office number: 252-438-7791
Kerr Lake SRA will have ongoing extensive construction to improve campgrounds and restrooms.
Beginning August 1, 2026, JC Cooper, Nutbush Area 1(North), Nutbush Area 3&4(South) and Hibernia will be closed for the season. Feel free to email the park with any questions you may have.
