Looking for a fun and family-friendly activity to kick off your holiday weekend? Come join us for Free Fishing on Friday, July 4th!
The NC Wildlife Resources Commission allows NC residents to fish public waters without a state fishing license during this one day of the year. State fishing licenses are usually required for anyone who is 16 years and older. We will be offering poles and tackle to borrow from our Boathouse (limited supply), and park staff will be present to provide assistance if needed.
Preregistration is encouraged in order to guarantee equipment; otherwise, fishing poles are available on a first-come, first-served basis or you can bring your own. Fishing worms will be available for purchase. Please call the Park Office to sign up at 704-982-4402.
The Division is seeking public input on the Equine State Trail Master Plan.
An online public survey is available for those who cannot attend the public meetings. Take the Survey.
North Carolina is experiencing a severe heat wave.
