National TRACK Trails Day Hike

August 16, 2025, 11am - 12pm
Our park staff will be leading a guided hike on the Quarry Trail, which is our designated TRACK Trail. This is an easy and family-friendly hike that will cover the geology of the Uwharries, and the history of the CCC at Morrow Mountain State Park. We will utilize many of the informative and interactive brochures provided by the Kids In Parks organization.

Morrow Mountain Bird Walk

Join park staff for a guided bird walk along the shores of Lake Tillery and part of the Fall Mountain Trail. This is one of the best spots at Morrow Mountain State Park to view Bald Eagles and Ospreys fishing for their next meal. Birdwatchers of all experience levels and abilities are welcome to attend.

Bring your binoculars and a camera if you have one. It will be a great opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of the area. Bird checklists and field guides will be provided to help with bird identification. Be prepared to hike up to one and half miles over uneven ground. We will meet at the
