Helene Recovery at South Mountains State Park

Most park facilities at the Jacob Fork Access are open. Clear Creek day-use access remains closed for a previously planned construction project. High Shoals Falls, including the waterfall viewing areas, remain closed.

Most of High Shoals Falls Trail, including the waterfall viewing areas, remains closed due to damage from Hurricane Helene. Debris removal was completed in spring 2026, and we are now in the planning and design stage of the recovery project.
