All state parks west of I-77 are closed through at least Oct. 31, 2024.
Most October events and field trips at all state parks across North Carolina have also been cancelled as the division works on post-storm recovery. Visit ncparks.gov/closures for more information.
Park gates at Grandfather Mountain State Park open and close promptly at the posted times.
Access to the state park before gates open or after they close is no longer permitted. Inclement weather may close park gates, contact the park for information. Click here to see the park hours.
Due to impacts of Hurricane Helene, Grandfather Mtn State Park is closed until further notice.
The park remain closed until park staff are able to assess the damage and determine that it is safe to reopen.
