Sandling Beach Early Closure   

The water storage tanks in Sandling Beach will be replaced this Fall and will require the water to be turned off and park to be closed.

Therefore the park will close for the season 2 weeks early starting Sept 18.

Flooding and Closed Facilities    

Due to heavy rains and subsequent rapid flooding, the following Falls Lake facilities will be closed until further notice:

Holly Point – Loop 2 – ALL SITES
Holly Point – Loop 4 – sites 116-131 
Shinleaf Group Sites - Shoreline 
Rollingview - Day Use area and Shelters 12-15
Sandling Beach – Entire Park
Hwy 50 Boat Launch - Entire Park
All Park Boat Ramps
All Park Swim Beaches

If you have reservations for any of these facilities please call 1-877-722-6762 to alter or cancel your reservation.

Falls Lake State Recreation Area

Falls Lake State Recreation Area is a collective of seven access areas scattered around the shoreline of this undeveloped, 12,000-acre reservoir. More than 300 campsites at four of the access areas offer a range of outdoor experience from RV hookups to primitive tent camping and group camps. There are five swim beaches in the recreation area and a number of boating ramps, some reserved for paddlers and non-gasoline powered boats. The Beaverdam access offers a network of mountain biking trails as well as a separate and quiet lake impoundment perfect for paddling, fishing and swimming. The Mountains-to-Sea State Trail winds through parts of the recreation area and is a centerpiece of a network of hiking trails.

All campgrounds are closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
