Take a short, yet somewhat steep, walk with Ranger Matheson to check out the fire tower and the Civilian Conservation Corps cabin here in the park. This program is for most ages and will be meeting at the Ranger Office at 10:00am!

Visit Rendezvous Mountain on the Fourth of July and enjoy a sweet treat as we celebrate the birth of American independence! Enjoy free popsicles (while supplies last) with friends, family, and neighbors as we remember the brave individuals who helped ensure our freedom.

Come spend some time at Rendezvous Mountain walking the Forest Ridge Trail!  This is an informal program geared towards families with children ages four to eight as we’ll be reading "The Very Impatient Caterpillar".  Park Tech Abbie will be leading the 0.6 mile walk at 9:00am.

Begin your day with Ranger Matheson as you take in the breathtaking views that Rendezvous Mountain has to offer!  The park gate will open at 5:30am, so grab a friend and bring a chair so you can sit back, relax, and witness the beauty that our park provides.

Join Park Tech Abbie at 1:00pm in learning a brief history of charcoal drawing while making charcoal sticks from start to finish over an open fire. You’ll then be able to use your charcoal sticks to create your own art!  This program is suitable for older children and adults.  Children and teens must be accompanied by a guardian.  To register for this event email abbie.bolinger@ncparks.gov.

Park Tech Abbie will be available from 10am-12pm to offer some tips and tricks to help you achieve that breathtaking shot. This is an informal program that is open to all skillsets, so grab a friend and stop on by!
All North Carolina state parks west of Interstate 77 are closed through at least Oct. 31.
Crowders Mountain, Gorges, Grandfather Mountain and Lake Norman state parks, as well as Rendezvous Mountain, will reopen at least partially on Nov. 1.
Elk Knob, Lake James, New River, and Stone Mountain state parks will reopen at least partially on Nov. 15; three parks will remain closed until further notice and face long-term closures: Chimney Rock, Mount Mitchell, and South Mountains.
