Venture along the trails to paint the river a Park Ranger. We will spend time by the cascades painting the Eno and before moseying up to the Piper-Cox House. We will be using watercolor pencils and river water to activate them. We have supplies but you are welcome to bring your own. Registration required.

Join a Park Technician to learn more about the woodpeckers of Eno River State Park. We will begin with a short lesson at the park's visitor center. Afterwards, we will search for woodpeckers and signs of their presence as we hike along the Eno Trace trail. This program will equip you with the knowledge to differentiate between woodpecker species based on their appearance, calls, behavior and habitat.

Join a Ranger to hike about 2 miles off trail to the site of an abandoned settlement associated with Holden Mill and hear the story of the Kirk-Holden War. We will discuss the tumultuous history of W. W. Holden, the first Governor in NC to be impeached during Reconstruction following the Civil War.

Have you ever been curious about Tree Identification but didn’t exactly know where to start? You’re not alone! Hike 2.7 miles with a Park Ranger along the Buckquarter Creek, Ridge, Fieldstone, and Holden Mill Trails to learn how to identify trees.
The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Division of Water Resources, in cooperation with Eno River State Park, the N.C. Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, City of Durham, Durham County, Town of Hillsborough and Orange County, will be treating the Eno River for hydrilla, an invasive aquatic plant, May 29 through Aug. 31.
A long-awaited acquisition of over 200 acres of land that includes the Historic Occoneechee Speedway to add to Eno River State Park has been finalized.
