Lake Norman State Park Under Boil Water Advisory

All campers at Lake Norman State Park should follow the boil water advisory instructions before using water.

Lake Norman State Park in Iredell County is experiencing periods of low pressure and outages in the distribution system due to a water main break. Periods of low or no pressure in the distribution system increases the potential for back siphonage and introduction of bacteria into the water system.

Campers at Lake Norman State Park should boil all water used for human consumption (including drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation) or use bottled water.

Vigorous boiling for 1 minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.

Water customers are strongly urged to conserve water whenever possible. This advisory will remain in effect until this page is updated.

Boiling water concentrates any levels of nitrates that may be present in the water. Infants below the age of 6 months and pregnant women should use an alternate water supply (e.g., bottled water) whenever possible.
