Status of Park Facilities at Morrow Mountain State Park

Morrow Mountain State Park began a major construction project on July 9, 2025, to replace aging water and sewer systems, with work expected to continue through early 2026. Visitors should expect construction noise and temporary disruptions.

Visitors to Morrow Mountain State Park may notice some changes underway during their visit. On July 9, 2025, construction began on a major infrastructure project aimed at replacing the park’s aging water and sewer systems. This much-needed update will help support the park’s operations and visitor experience for years to come. The project is expected to continue through early 2026.

During construction, guests should expect the presence of heavy equipment and intermittent noise throughout the park. While every effort is being made to minimize disruption, some closures and service adjustments are necessary to ensure the work proceeds safely and efficiently.

What to Expect:

  • RV Dump Station: The RV dump station will be closed for the duration of the project. RV campers should plan ahead and make alternative arrangements for waste disposal.

  • Campground Showerhouses: The showerhouses in Loops A and C will receive new septic systems. These facilities will close periodically for approximately two to three weeks at a time. Closures may occur with limited notice, so campers are advised to use showerhouses in other loops during these times. Many campsites will remain available for reservations throughout construction.

  • Group Camp: The group camp will be closed on weekdays while new waterlines are installed along park roadways. However, it will remain open and available for reservations Friday through Sunday.

  • Road Access: Several roads within the park may experience temporary closures or be reduced to one lane at times to allow for waterline installation. Please follow signage and any guidance from park staff for your safety.

  • Trail Closure: The only trail closure associated with this project will be the Campground Trail.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to improve Morrow Mountain State Park’s infrastructure. These upgrades will help ensure the park continues to provide high-quality recreational opportunities for generations to come. For updates on closures or availability, please check our website or call the park office before your visit.
