Fall is a perfect time to camp out and enjoy the Millpond, but not everyone has the knowledge to do so. We are seeking to fix that with our "survival skills" series of programs!

This week, we will cover the basics of camping which are shelter, fire, and water.

We will cover how to set up a tent, as well as how to make several different styles of shelter with common materials. Next, we will cover some tips and tricks for carrying and collecting water and wrap up the program by teaching how to build a fire (with a possibility of smores!).

This program is designed to offer something for everyone, whether you're knew to camping and trying to learn, or a seasoned veteran wanting to swap tips and skills. Guests are welcome to bring their own gear, such as tents, bags, and fire starters if they are seeking to learn how to better use them.

Please dress for the weather. Ideally, we will be outside for the majority of this program, but it is adaptable and can be taught inside if needed.
