Full moon over the mountains, as seen at Stone Mountains State Park

Join a ranger for a rare evening/night hike along the 3.5 mile Elliott Couse Nature Trail. Along with getting some unique views of the sunset, we will also be talking about, and looking out for, some of the different creatures active at night that  call Ft. Macon home.
When the Hike is finished (weather permitting) there will be a stargazing program with the Crystal Coast Star Gazers that you may wish to join.

Participants for the hike should wear sturdy walking shoes, bring a flashlight or headlamp, water, and bug spray.

We will meet at the large picnic area by the east parking lot at the Bathhouse Beach Access area of Ft. Macon.  Because of the astronomy event that will be going on when the hike concludes, you will need to park in the west parking lot (the first parking area you come to when entering the bathhouse area) and walk over to the picnic shelters.
