Jordan Lake State Recreation Area – Fall campsite
Flooding closures

Due to the extreme flooding at Jordan Lake, we have to close the following campsites through June 7, 2020:

Parkers Creek:
Loop 1 sites 4 through 47.
Loop 2 Entire loop is closed.

Crosswinds:
Area C sites C36, C40 and C42 are closed.

Poplar Point:
Loop B sites B3 through  B21, B34 through B36, B57, B59, B60 & B79 are closed.
Loop C sites C14 through C16 & C34 & C35 are closed.
Loop F sites F7 through F18, F21 & F22 are closed.
Loop G sites, G14, G30 through G32, G35, G36, G46 & G47 are closed.
Loop H sites H18 through H34, H42 through H48, H56 through H59 are closed.
Loop J sites J17, J20 through J46, J49, and J57 through J75 are closed.

More sites are possibly going to flood due to the quickly rising water which will also cause the campground roadways to be impassable. Please note that after the water recedes several campsites will be extremely wet and can take days to become dry enough for use causing their closures.  The water levels are predicted to go 10 to 12 feet above the normal pool.  More campsites will be added to the alert as conditions require.

Jordan Lake State Recreation Area

Jordan Lake State Recreation Area is a collective of nine access areas scattered around the shoreline of this undeveloped, 14,000-acre reservoir. More than 1,000 campsites among five of the access areas offer a range of outdoor experience from RV hookups to primitive tent camping and group camps. There are seven swim beaches in the recreation area and a number of boating ramps, with some swim areas and ramps reserved for campers. Nearly 14 miles of hiking trails wind across the hilly lakeshore, with most of them offering easy, brief hikes perfect for family outings. Spotting bald eagles and osprey is just one of many opportunities to view wildlife, and the lake’s ecology is further explored in the visitor center exhibit hall.
