Scheduled events

Jockey's Ridge State Park offers a variety of learning opportunities for all ages. Typically led by park rangers, these interpretive programs allow the public to gain perspective into what makes North Carolina state parks naturally wonderful. ​

Most of the events are free, though some require pre-registration. All give park visitors deeper insight into the natural world. Call the park office for more information.

 

Come in from the cold and learn more about North Carolina State Park Rangers and the trail we follow.  This is a discussion on ranger roles, responsibilities, and experiences along the way.

Relax for a bit and learn about the life of Jockey's ridge.  A ranger will share with you some interesting facts about the park's natural and cultural history.

Join a ranger for a leisurely 1 mile walk along the sound nature trail and experience all 3 habitats of Jockey’s Ridge. The hike is easy to moderate because the trail is sandy. Wear comfortable shoes. Hike usually lasts 45 minutes to an hour.
