National Public Lands Day – Plant-A-Thon

Come out to Lake Norman State Park on National Public Lands Day! We will be planting beautiful native species along a few areas in the park to help the pollinators and bring in more diversity.

National Cup of Joe Day

Celebrate "National Joe Day" at Morrow Mountain! Relax and enjoy a cup of joe with our park staff. Coffee, hot water, and other hot beverages will be provided. Meet at the Park Office.

Earth Day Hike

April 22, 2025, 1pm - 2pm
Spend some time with Mother Earth! Join a Park Ranger on a 0.5-mile easy hike while we learn about the environment around us and search for any litter to pick up. All materials provided. Meet at the picnic shelter. 

Volunteer Trail Day

November 23, 2024, 8:30am - 12pm
The Friends invite you to help with trail work to restore your hurricane-impacted park on Saturday, November 23rd.  There’s a lot to do!   Trail work volunteers will be treated to lunch after the workday.  Meet at the Sparrow Springs Visitor Center, 522 Park Office Lane, Kings Mountain, NC at 8:30 a.m. for refreshments, fellowship, and meet the trail crew leaders.  Water, snacks, work gloves, safety glasses, insect repellant, and tools will be provided.  Dress appropriately for outdoor work and bring any necessary medications.  Event is weather dependent.
