Join us at Carvers Creek State Park for a canoe lesson followed by a paddle on the swamp.

Join state park staff for this drop in event as we spend the day tallying migrating hawks, butterflies and dragonflies. Come learn about the migrants that pass-through North Carolina in large numbers.  Bring your binoculars, camera, lunch and a camp chair and stay for minutes or hours! This is peak time for migrating Broad-winged Hawks, Monarch butterflies and other migrants. If any monarchs are within reach, we'll capture and tag them using Monarch Watch program protocols.

Join park staff for a guided bird walk along the shores of Lake Tillery and part of the Fall Mountain Trail. This is one of the best spots at Morrow Mountain State Park to view Bald Eagles and Ospreys fishing for their next meal. Birdwatchers of all experience levels and abilities are welcome to attend.

Bring your binoculars and a camera if you have one. It will be a great opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of the area. Bird checklists and field guides will be provided to help with bird identification. Be prepared to hike up to one and half miles over uneven ground. We will meet at the
