Join state park staff for this drop in event as we spend the day tallying migrating hawks, butterflies and dragonflies. Come learn about the migrants that pass-through North Carolina in large numbers. Bring your binoculars, camera, lunch and a camp chair and stay for minutes or hours! This is peak time for migrating Broad-winged Hawks, Monarch butterflies and other migrants. If any monarchs are within reach, we'll capture and tag them using Monarch Watch program protocols. Rain or bad weather will cancel the program and the migrants.
