Do you love fishing? Are you new to it or curious about learning how? Come celebrate National Grandparents Day with your family by fishing with Chimney Rock Park Rangers on Lake Lure at Morse Park and learn how to tie knots, cast, and start fishing. Please note that we are limited to loaner 20 poles. Feel free to bring your own tackle and poles as long as it is in good working order.Meet at Morse Park in Lake Lure. The program will take place near the walking trails. Parking available at the Lake Lure Marina and public parking in Lake Lure.

There are a lot of flies out there. How do you pick the right one for the fish you're targeting? We’ve got you covered! It's all about 'matching the hatch'—choosing the fly that best resembles what the fish are feeding on. Join our Entomology for Anglers course, this time at South Mountains State Park! We’ll start in the classroom with a presentation on how to identify bugs, gather specimens, and understand the lifecycle of aquatic insects—and, of course, which flies work best to mimic them.
