Do you like the stars? Do you wish you had a clearer, closer view at the vast beauty of the sky above us? Would you like to learn about the wild parts of our universe while sipping some hot chocolate? If so, join us on August 15th for our second Astronomy Night! This event is after hours, from 8pm to 9:30pm. You'll get a bonus sticker for bringing your own reusable mug! If you're interested in attending, please call (910) 436-4681 or email the park to sign up!

This event is being put on by Friends of Carvers Creek State Park

Come and read at your own pace, comfortably relaxing in the woods. We will meet at the park office and walk to our spot. We will have a few blankets to lay on, and a few chairs to relax in, but you are welcome to bring your own. We will read for about an hour and then chat for about thirty. You could bring a book you've been reading for three months, or a book you started this morning - the only requirement is that you show up with your book and read it in the company of other people doing the same thing.

Are all “bugs” really bugs? Come learn why not! We’ll play some games, learn about critters, and go on a Bug Safari scavenger hunt.

Meet at the secret pond for this event.
