Steve Rogers has been selected as the new park superintendent at Jockey’s Ridge State Park in Dare County
Burn ban in effect at all state parks due to high risk of wildfire.
The use of wood and charcoal is prohibited during the burn ban. Gas or electric stoves, grills, heaters, fire pits, or lanterns may be used with extreme caution. Call 911 to report a wildfire.
Jockey's Ridge State Park will begin construction on a new boardwalk.
Visitors should expect disruptions during this time. The boardwalk will be closed. There will be no wheelchair accessible route to view the dunes.
