As you walk the trails of Long Valley Farm Access, you will experience a variety of habitats including longleaf pine forest, warm season grass meadow, wetlands, and a Millpond. You'll also encounter the winter residence of James Stillman Rockefeller, the spring house, the Pavilion, an old farm site and other historic structures. There are two hiking trails in the park, the James S. Rockefeller Trail and the Cypress Point Loop Trail.


Cypress Point Loop Trail
Location: Begins just to the left of the historical marker at the trail intersection with the Rockefeller trail.
Description: This trail winds along a peninsula overlooking the millpond and back to the James S. Rockefeller Trail through a longleaf pine forest. Along the way, you'll encounter historic structures viewed from across the millpond, a bank fishing access footpath and a floating observation deck with nice views of the millpond.
Point of Interest: Picnic areas, rain shelter, Canoe house, Pavilion, Grist mill and fishing access.

James S. Rockefeller Trail
Location: Begins at the opening in the fence near the park office and ends in front of the Rockefeller House at large historical marker.
Description: The trail travels between a native grass meadow and longleaf pine forests. It ends in front of the Rockefeller House and a large historical marker where the trail connects with the Cypress Point Loop trail. Enjoy long views of open meadows, old farm silo in the distance, Long-leaf pine forests and good birdwatching. Please use this trail on your return hike to the park office/trail head.
Point of Interest: Picnic area with a grill next to the parking lot and park office. Two wayside displays discussing edge habitat and the life cycle of the longleaf pine.
