Join us at Merchants Millpond State Park for another summer full of adventures!
Join us on Monday, July 21st with our special guests from Sylvan Heights Bird Park as we dive into the beautiful world of birds! Birds are some of the most colorful and vocal creatures we have, not just at the Millpond, but in the world! From the majestic Bald Eagle, to the noisy Northern Mockingbird, to the tiny Blue-Grey Gnatcatcher, all birds are unique in shape, size, sound, and color, and play their own roles in the environment. Come learn more about these magnificent flying creatures from the folks who work with them every day!
This program will start at 10:00 AM sharp at the visitor center auditorium and last for about an hour. This will be a mostly indoor program, but guests are still encouraged to dress for the weather.
Summer is an excellent time to check out some of the summer migrants that flock to the Millpond, so come practice your birding. We have a list of species you might see, and staff will be here to answer questions. We also have a small scavenger hunt set up for those who are interested, so grab a list and go see what you can find!
