Earthworms are a species of terrestrial annelid worm that burrows in the soil they help our ecosystem by breaking down dead material and fertilize soil. We will take a closer look at earth worms by measuring gummy worms, seeing how far they stretch, counting segments of their body and of course rating color verses taste. We will end the program with a hands-on experience with earthworm bins. This program is suitable for children from 1st through 5th grade, but all ages are welcome. To register for this program email andra.dalton@ncparks.gov.
