Jockey’s Ridge State Park and the Dare County Parks and Recreation Department are partnering to offer a fly fishing workshop this fall! Join staff for a fun and informative day of learning about the art of fly fishing. This introductory course will include an overview of the sport’s history, equipment, targeted species, habitat, bait, and reading of the water. Participants will also be introduced to basic fly tying. An afternoon session of casting will take place along Jockey's Ridge's soundside shoreline. All equipment will be provided. This is a free program and is made possible by the Dare County Parks and Recreation Department, Friends of Jockey’s Ridge, and Jockey's Ridge State Park.
Open to ages 12 and up.
