Aerial shot of fall colors at Medoc Mountain State Park, circa 1975

Join us for a guided hike starting in the Jacob Fork parking area by the picnic area.  Leaf Peeping starts early this year. We will identify the trees changing colors and discuss cultural uses of these plants/trees in the past.  We will be in search of what's falling in the forest as we hike as we identify the many acorns, nuts, and fruits.  Don't forget that the forest is still blooming as we point out many wildflowers on our hike to Big Bear Falls. Finally, we will discuss the local lore surrounding the prediction of coming winter conditions as we search for the woolly bear (caterpillar) worm and persimmon seeds along the trail.
