The Outer Banks Astronomy Club and Jockey's Ridge State Park will be hosting an evening of stargazing to help spread a love and appreciation for the night sky. The event will help showcase the dark skies we have here on the Outer Banks and will be centered around the new moon to further enhance the appearance of many celestial objects. Equipment will be provided for your enjoyment. This event is open to the public and all are welcome to bring their own telescopes.
Most October events and field trips at all state parks across North Carolina have also been cancelled as the division works on post-storm recovery. Visit ncparks.gov/closures for more information.
