Medoc Mountain State Park is celebrating the reopening of its renovated camping facilities and picnic areas. Thanks to $4.9 million in funding from the Connect N.C. Bond initiative and the Parks and Recreation Trust Fund, the project added water, sewer, and electric hookups at campsites, upgraded bathhouses, and introduced four new two-bedroom camper cabins. Each cabin sleeps up to six people and features outdoor grills and picnic tables, with a central bathhouse nearby.
Following the ribbon cutting, guests are invited to join a brief tour of the campsite, then stay for an astronomy program beginning at 7 p.m.
