Join the call to the wild to Beech Mountain to explore the wonders of the mountain. This event at Buckeye Recreation Center features expert talks, guided hikes, and hands-on activities designed to deepen your understanding of local ecosystems and environmental challenges. It is free and open to everyone, so join the adventure & stay for the passion! Schedule is as follows: 9am-5pm: Community Clean-up – Sign up at BRC, 10am: Watauga Riverkeeper | Mountain True- Riverkeeping 101 – BRC, 11am: Grandfather Mountain State Park –Endangered Species of Grandfather Mountain – Buckeye Lake Pavilion, 12pm: Lunch, 1pm: Biologist Anna Bigler – Bugs That Tell the Truth: Bio-Indicators Beneath the Surface – BRC, 2:15pm: Grandfather Stewardship Foundation – Rhododendron Hike – Emerald Outback Trails, 3:30pm: NC-Cooperative Extension– Ecological Impacts of Hurricane Helene – BRC, 4:30pm: Beech Mountain Historical Society – Medicinal Plant & ID Hike – BRC
