In this hands-on art-meets-nature program, participants will explore the fascinating structure of leaves through creative expression. We'll start by observing a variety of local leaves on an easy hike, learning about their parts like veins, blades, and stems, and how each part plays a role in helping the plant grow.

Then, we'll unleash our creativity with vibrant watercolor washes, turning our scientific observations into stunning nature-inspired artwork.

Perfect for young artists, young-at-heart artists, and budding botanists alike. This program encourages close observation, creativity, and a deeper appreciation for the natural world, one leaf at a time!

To register, please contact outdoor.rec@ncparks.gov

Please note, the program is free, but there is an admission fee to enter the Falls Lake State Recreation Area of $10 per car.
