Discovery/Interpretive Trail

Stream Loop Trail

1541 Medoc State Park Road, Hollister

Short, ¾ mile loop that starts at the Picnic Shelter and follows Little Fishing Creek and exits into the large field near the Picnic Area.

The Medoc Mountain State Park TRACK Trail follows the Stream Loop Trail, an easy loop through a mixed hardwood forest, along a creek and through an open field.

River Trail

3001 South Mountain Park Ave., Connelly Springs

River Trail is an easy foot trail along Jacob Fork River. The Kid's Track Trail kiosk is located at the east end of River Trail with self-guided brochures. River Trail is 0.5mile and connects Cicero Branch parking area and Jacob Fork parking area. Bikes are not permitted on River Trail.

Holly Discovery Trail

7321 N.C. 126, Nebo

The trail is a flat, easy trek through riparian forest adjacent to Paddy's Creek.

The Lake James State Park TRACK Trail adventures (see kiosk at trailhead parking area) were designed for use on the Holly Discovery Trail, but they can be used anywhere within the park trail system. Be sure to check out the Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail, which can be accessed 150 yards south of the Holly Discovery Trail parking area.

Oak Rock Trail

8801 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh

A short loop includes the feature for which the trail is named as a highlight. The trail crosses a small stream, Sal’s Branch, at two points along the route. Stonework including a check dam and culvert are signs of early projects to restore the land and build a park. This is also the park’s TRACK Trail.

Turnback Trail

The trail gives alternate hiking opportunities for both the Pinnacle and Fern trails.

Crowders Mountain State Park’s TRACK Trail adventures were designed for use on the Turnback Trail, Fern Trail, and Lake Trail. These three trail combined make a 2.1 mile round-trip hike.

Lake Trail

Fern Trail

This loop trail connects with a portion of the Turnback Trail and follows a creek for some portions of the trail.

Stone Mountain Loop Trail

3042 Frank Parkway, Roaring Gap

This 4.5 mile trail takes you across the summit of Stone Mountain, by the Hutchinson Homestead and a 200 foot waterfall. Hikers can choose to go to the waterfall or the summit and back without having to do the entire loop. The park's TRACK Trail is located on a portion of the trail from the Lower Trailhead parking lot to the Hutchison Homestead.
