The Mount Jefferson Track Trail is the actual Rhododendron Trail loop, 1.1 miles. The Activity Brochure Kiosk is located in front of the bathhouse on the summit trail.

Tracks in the Sand is a self-guided trail with educational brochures available at the trailhead display. The route is marked with directional arrows and leads to the Roanoke Sound.
The trail gives alternate hiking opportunities for both the Pinnacle and Fern trails.
This trail begins at the west end of the visitor center parking lot, located at 1005 Visitor Center Drive, at the wooden handrail. The trail immediately crosses Hanging Rock Park Road.
