Educator Workshop - Beginner Fly Fishing Instructor Workshop

This 6 hour workshop covers the beginner basics of fly fishing and how to host a fly fishing clinic for visitors. Course covers fish ID (native and stocked), fishing regulations, how water quality and macro invertebrates correlate to good fishing spots, fly selection, knot tying, casting, and how to lead your own fishing clinic. This is intended for formal and non-formal educators looking to host their own fly fishing programs or clinics.

The entire workshop will be held outdoors so come dressed for the weather. Bring plenty of water, a pack lunch, and a change of clothes or waders if you have them. This will count towards Criteria II, III, or Continuing Education for the EE Certification.

Space is limited, prior registration required. Please contact Sharon Becker at sharon.becker@ncparks.gov or 704-528-6514 to register by May 18th.
