Come to Raven Rock State Park’s Visitor Center on Saturday, June 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to help us celebrate National Pollinator Week and learn about bees, butterflies and hummingbirds and their importance to our worlds food supply.
There will be live demonstrations with butterflies from the Backyard Butterflies, Harnett County Beekeepers will have honeybees, honeybee equipment and educational displays along with some local honey for tasting. Harnett County Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer any questions about flowers. Susan Campbell, licensed hummingbird bander and lead hummingbird researcher in North Carolina will be capturing, tagging and releasing the park’s hummingbirds. Come dressed up as your favorite pollinator, or dress up your pet, with special prizes for those that come in costume. Fun educational exhibits, games and crafts. This program is funded in part by Friends of Raven Rock State Park.
