Closure of Mountain Laurel Loop Bicycle Trails   

The Mountain Laurel Loop Bicycle Trail will be closed starting February 18. This closure is due to campground construction, and all bike trails should be opened towards the end of the year. This area is an unsafe construction area. Entering these trails, servive roads or parking lots will be illegal tresspassing. We are sorry for the inconvenience. The following places allow biking in our area: New bike trails at Carvers Creek State Park will open soon. There are bike trails at William B. Umstead State Park and Falls Lake Recreation Area. Harris Lake County Park, Uhwarrie National Forest (Badin Lake Recreation Area and Woodrun Trails) and Crabtree County Park all allow mountain biking.

The Bridle Trails ans Avent's Creek Access...   

The Bridle trails, as well as the Avent's Creek access is closed to all users due to very wet conditions.

Trail and campsite closures   

After much work following Hurricane Florence, most of Raven Rock's trails are back open! The Canoe Camps and Group Camps will remain closed for the foreseeable future. The East Bridle Loop, at Avent's Creek Access Area is currently closed to all visitors due to construction on the trail.

Directions

Raven Rock State Park is located in Harnett County, nine miles west of Lillington and twenty miles east of Sanford off US 421. For bridle trail directions please see below.

From the junction of US 1 and US 421, follow US 421 South. Turn left onto Raven Rock Road, and follow it for three miles to the park.

From I-40, take I-95 to US 421. Travel north on US 421. After passing through Lillington, turn right onto Raven Rock Road and follow it for three miles to the park entrance.

Directions to Bridle Trails

Raven Rock State Park's bridle trails are located on the north side of the Cape Fear River; separate from the main entrance to Raven Rock State Park.

From the Fayetteville area, travel north on Hwy 401 or Hwy 210. Go through Lillington and pass over the Cape Fear River. Turn left onto Hwy 401/West Cornelius Harnett Blvd. Travel 3.3 miles and turn left onto Christian Light Road. Travel 3.7 miles and turn left onto River Road. The bridle trails entrance is less than a half mile on the left.

From the Fuquay Varina area, traveling towards Lillington on Hwy 401/West Cornelius Harnett Blvd, turn right onto Christian Light Road. Travel 3.7 miles and turn left onto River Road. The bridle trails entrance is less than a half mile on the left.

From the Angier area, traveling towards Lillington on Hwy 210, turn right onto Hwy 401/West Cornelius Harnett Blvd. Travel 3.3 miles and turn left onto Christian Light Road. Travel 3.7 miles and turn left onto River Road. The bridle trails entrance is less than a half mile on the left.

From the Dunn area, traveling via US 421 north into Lillington, stay straight onto Hwy 401/West Cornelius Harnett Blvd at the intersection located beside McDonald's. Travel 3.3 miles and turn left onto Christian Light Road. Travel 3.7 miles and turn left onto River Road. The bridle trails entrance is less than a half mile on the left.
