Treasures of the Mountain - Celebrating Pilot Mountain State Park's 49th Birthday

What is your favorite memory of Pilot Mountain? What makes it special to you? Stories from past to present by park visitors and neighbors will be appreciated and documented by audio recording by state park staff. These audio recordings will become part of a oral history of the mountain, and part of a future museum exhibit in our soon to be built Visitor Center. We want to hear from you! All you need to do is meet us at the shaded sidewalk on the way to the Little Pinancle overlook at the Summit Parking area, Sunday July 23rd from 3pm to 8pm.

As part of the Connect NC Bond referendum that was approved by voters last year, Pilot Mountain State Park will be building a Visitor Center and will be developing exhibits for the museum portion of the visitor center.  If you have older artifacts or memorabilia that you would like to see put to good use on exhibit or display for generations, we would welcome and appreciate your donation.
