Stargazing and Local Fireworks Display Viewing Event - Astronomy

Ever wonder what makes fireworks different colors?  Wonder about comparing the speed of light to the speed of sound? Do you enjoy watching fireworks, but uncomfortable with the sound? In a partnership with Forsyth Astronomical Society and Pilot Mountain State Park, join us to view some of the neighboring town and city firework displays and amazing displays of the heavens above - including the sun, the moon, planets, stars, and other deep-space objects!! It will be out of this world!  We will not be lighting any fireworks. Fireworks in NC State Parks are strictly prohibited, including sparklers and small scale pyrotechnics.  All trails are closed at sunset and viewing is only allowed at the Summit Parking Area.   This program is subject to cancellation based on forecasts of rain or severe weather.
