State Trails – Passport

State Trails – Passport
About the State Trails
In addition to the trails within our state parks, the North Carolina Division of Parks and Recreation plans and coordinates the management of state trails. As of 2019, there are six state trails partially constructed or designed, and three others authorized with planning soon to be underway.
For maps and additional information on these state trails, please visit the North Carolina Trails website.
In the Passport book
A section on the state trails is included in the Passport books printed in 2018 or later.
On page 53 of the 2018 edition, there is a stamps page for the four state trails that had designated sections when that edition was printed: Fonta Flora, French Broad River, Mountains-to-Sea, and Yadkin River.
On pages 54 and 55 of the 2019 edition, there is a stamps page for all nine state trails, even though there are currently no designated sections for four of the trails. We hope to add the state trails stamps for these four when sections have been designated.
Listed below are the stamp redemption locations for the state trails that have existing stamps. You don't have to hike the whole trail to get a stamp. Hike any portion of the trail to be eligible to redeem the stamp.
You can also send us an email at state.parks@ncparks.gov with your name, your mailing address, which state trails stamps you need, and how many of each, and we will mail you the stamp stickers for those state trails.
