Stone Mountain State Park received a lot of rainfall and wind over the past two days, which has made the horse bridle trail hazardous, so we have decided to close this area. Once the trail is deemed safe to reopen by the park rangers, this alert will be removed. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Join a ranger at the campground amphitheater for some arts and crafts. This month: fall themes.
Meet a ranger at the picnic area for a short hike and talk about some of the different trees that live in Stone Mountain State Park. Handicapped accessible.
Join a Ranger at the amphitheater located next to B-loop washhouse in the family campground for a program that discusses some of the benefits of prescribed burns and take a look at some of the equipment that wildland fire fighters carry with them on prescribed burns. The program will last approximately forty-five minutes.
Meet a ranger at the Upper Trail Head Parking Area for a .5 mile hike to the 200 foot Stone Mountain Falls. Geology of the area will be discussed on the way.
Join a Ranger at the horse trailer parking area for a beginner’s fly fishing program that includes a discussion of Delayed Harvest rules and regulations, knot tying, fly selection and casting techniques. Participants will get the opportunity to practice casting and try their luck at catching stocked mountain trout in the stream.
Come out and join us for our annual Old Fashioned Day event at Stone Mountain State Park! The event will be held in the picnic area on September 8, 2018 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
