Enjoy the arrival of spring at Haw River State Park’s Iron Ore Belt Access during our annual SpringFest.  This free family event takes place in the Green Field next to the parking lot and includes two Easter egg hunts for ages 1 to 12 years old (don't forget your baskets), nature crafts, face painting, and tree climbing.  The first egg hunt will take place at 1:15 p.m.

History

With over 1,300 acres in Guilford and Rockingham Counties, Haw River State Park is nestled along the Haw River corridor, near the headwaters of the river. As part of interim development, Haw River State Park offers the traditional amenities of hiking and picnicking at our Iron Ore Belt Access day use area. Additional facilities are planned for future development, with this location noted as a key destination on the state’s Mountains-to-Sea Trail.

Join the 27th Annual Haw River Clean-Up-A-Thon on Saturday March 18th from 10:00am to 1:00pm.  We will meet at the Iron Ore Belt Access Parking Lot (6068 Church Street Greensboro, NC 27455) and work on cleaning up around the area.  We will provide bags, if you have your own work gloves please bring them.  We will have a few pairs on site but not many.  Closed-toed shoes and long pants are a mus
