Please join us at the Historic Rock Cliff Farm, retirement home of B.W. Wells, ecologist and botanical pioneer. The event will showcase 19th century farming techniques, a hog farming tour and nature hikes for all ages. There will also be arts and crafts for the whole family to enjoy, such as painting with pine needles, build-a-baseball and kite making activities.

Winter Closings

Sandling Beach, BW Wells Campground and Holly Point Campground are all closed for the winter.  BW Wells Campground and Holly Point Campground will reopen on March 15, 2018. Sandling Beach will reopen April 1, 2018.

Get up close and personal with one of Falls Lake's most festive reptiles, the Eastern Box Turtle, and mark this off your holiday to do list. Join a Ranger as we explore the life history and conservation concerns of North Carolina's state reptile. Be prepared for a truely unique experience with Glenda, our resident female Box Turtle.

Prescribed Fire Talk

We will discuss the benefits of prescribed fire in the landscape and look closely at an area that was recently burned in the park. Wear good hiking shoes, dress for the weather, and be prepared for an off-trail walk in the woods, where you may have to grab a water pack and put out a fire!
