Hwy 50 Boat Ramp is currently closed due to high water level.

Normal winter seasonal closures are as follows:
Sandling Beach day-use area is closed from October 1 until April 1.
Holly Point family campground is closed from November 1 until March 15.
BW Wells group campground is closed from December 1 until March 15.

Rangers hold regularly scheduled educational and interpretive programs about Falls Lake and its aquatic environment. Check the Events calendar for more information.
To arrange a special exploration of Falls Lake State Recreation Area for your group or class, contact the park office.
Educational materials about Falls Lake have been developed for grades 3-5 and are correlated to North Carolina's competency-based curriculum in science, social studies, mathematics and English/language arts. The Falls Lake program focuses on the food chain. Accompanying the program is a teacher's booklet and workshop, free of charge to educators.

November to February: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
March, April, September and October: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.
May to August: 8 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Closed Christmas Day
All campgrounds at Falls Lake State Recreation Area now offer 24-hour access during that campground's operating season.
