Events and Programs

Cliffs of the Neuse State Park offers a variety of learning opportunities for all ages. Typically led by park rangers, these interpretive programs allow the public to gain perspective into what makes North Carolina state parks naturally wonderful.

Most of the events are free, though some require pre-registration. All give park visitors deeper insight into the natural world. Call the park office for more information.

The 10K Women Trail Project, launched by Hike It Baby and sponsored by REI, is an initiative to get women and girls on trails across the United States. North Carolina State Parks is supporting this effort by creating Trail Sisters—a series of hikes in our state parks led by our female staff.  These hikes aim to bring women of all backgrounds and trail experience together for fellowship, fresh air, and improved health in the outdoors.
Join Park Ranger Eryn Staib on a easy, 2-mile hike around the park’s Lake trail. We will meet at the Visitor Center. Remember to dress for the weather and bring water! All levels are welcome. Please, no dogs on this hike.
We will be having varying levels of trail sister hikes every month this year.
