Falls Lake State Recreaton Area offers a variety of learning opportunities for all ages. Typically led by park rangers, these interpretive programs allow the public to gain perspective into what makes North Carolina state parks naturally wonderful. ​

Most of the events are free, though some require pre-registration. All give park visitors deeper insight into the natural world. Call the park office for more information.


Have you ever been on a hike and expect to see an animal, but did not?  Come learn what animals live around the Falls Lake Area.  Learn what signs to look for to let you know an animal has been around

All campgrounds now offer 24 hour access during the operating season. See Opening and Closing Schedule for details. 

All campgrounds are closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Office closed most State Holidays and weekends between Labor Day and Easter
