Flooding at Kerr Lake

Kerr Lake has risen 7.5 feet since 8:00 am on 5/17/18 due to extremely heavy rainfall throughout the Roanoke River Basin.  The lake level was 308.39’ msl as of 8:00 am on 5/22/18. It is still rising and there is more rain in the forecast before and through Memorial Day.  Lake level predictions have been very difficult to make with the long term rain event that has occurred and will likely change.  We have begun notifying those with reservations on impacted sites.  We are confident that there will be significant flooding of campsites and boat ramps for Memorial Day Weekend.

The bridges on Anderson Creek Rd. Jacksontown Rd. and Nutbush Rd. are closed due to flooding.

All campgrounds have flooded sites.

The campgrounds at Bullocksville and Henderson Point are entirely closed right now due to flooded roads.

Hourly lake level information can be found at: http://epec.saw.usace.army.mil/roa05.htm
