Join local astronomers with the Greensboro Astronomy Club as we observe the night skies over the Iron Ore Belt Access. Attendees may expect to see closer-than-typical views of the moon, planets, star clusters, and other celestial objects subject to change with time of year and local sky darkness.
Telescopes and viewing equipment will be set up on site but you may wish to bring your own binoculars or telescope, plus a chair or blanket for seating. Dress for the weather and bring a flashlight (red light preferred to preserve night vision of attendees).
Please note that there will be a 0.1-mile walk from the parking area to the viewing area, and you will be doing so in the dark and on uneven ground.
Space is limited, and registration is required per vehicle. Click the Register button to sign up via our webform.
Note: This program will be canceled in case of cloudy or poor weather conditions.
