Reservable Facilities

We are open. (The Blue Ridge Parkway is now open from both the North and South of the park.)
The following facilities are CLOSED:
Restaurant (Will only open in 2023)
Restrooms at the Summit (TBA)
The following facilities are now OPEN for the season:

Concessions
Overnight parking is permitted for people backcountry camping in the surrounding National Forest. Please fill out a parking pass and leave it on the dashboard of your car. Passes are located in the boxes where the overnight parking signs are at the summit parking lot. There is no overnight parking permitted at the park office.
Please check the weather forecast and prepare accordingly.

In addition to campsites, you can reserve the following facilities at this park:
Picnic Shelters
Unreserved picnic shelters are available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. However, the shelters are very popular, so reservations are strongly suggested.
Two picnic shelters at the Summit area each accommodate up to 16 people. Drinking water and restrooms are nearby. Both shelters are handicap accessible.
