Sunset Woodcock Walk

The Woodcock is one of the most intriguing birds around. Considered a shorebird, it is often seen in dense young forests probing for it’s favorite meal, earthworms. During breeding season, the male Woodcock puts on a flashy display to attract females that includes sky-high acrobatics. Meet up with a park ranger to walk out to an area of the park where these unique birds have been observed in the past. Be sure to bring a flashlight or headlamp for the hike because it will be in the dark.
