Major construction projects are tentatively scheduled to start in the park in mid-late June of 2022. This construction will require closures of all three family campground loops, the family cabins and picnic shelter A on top of Morrow Mountain. The swimming pool will also be closed in 2022 for major renovations. Group and primitive camping, picnic shelters B and C, and the community building are still be available for reservations.

Last updated on: Thursday, April 14, 2022Camping and cabin reservations are REQUIRED before arrival. There are no walk-up reservations. Visitors must book reservations online and arrive before 9:00 p.m. on the day of reservation. Campers may go directly to their campsite after 4:00 pm on day of arrival and must vacate site before 3:00 pm on their last day. Cabin check-in is after 4:00 pm and check-out is required before 10:00 am.

Area information
Morrow Mountain State Park is located in Stanly County, six miles east of Albemarle, and is accessible from NC highways 24/27, 73 and 740.
From I-40 in Greensboro, take US 220 South (I-73/I-74). Turn right on NC 24, traveling west toward Albemarle. About six miles from Albemarle, turn right on Valley Drive and travel approximately three miles. Turn right on Morrow Mountain Road, which leads into the park.
From US 74 in Rockingham, take US 220 North (I-73/I-74). Turn left on NC 24, traveling west toward Albemarle. About six miles from Albemarle, turn right on Valley Drive and travel approximately three miles. Turn right on Morrow Mountain Road, which leads into the park.
From I-85 near High Point, take NC 109 south, merge right on Hwy 49 south travel approximately eight miles and turn left onto Hwy 8 south. Turn left at the stoplight in New London onto NC 740. Turn left on Morrow Mountain Rd, which leads into the park.
From Charlotte, take NC 24 east to NC 740. After about three miles, turn right on Morrow Mountain Road, which leads into the park.
