Events and Programs
Merchants Millpond State Park offers a variety of learning opportunities for all ages. Typically led by park rangers, these interpretive programs allow the public to gain perspective into what makes North Carolina state parks naturally wonderful.
Most of the events are free, though some require pre-registration. All give park visitors deeper insight into the natural world. Call the park office for more information.
The invasives are invading! We will be discussing several invasive problems that the Merchants Millpond State Park is facing and how to deal with them. Specific invasives include Japanese Wisteria, Chinese Privet, Canada Geese, and Nutria. For more information feel free to contact park staff at 252 357 1191.
Join a Park Ranger to learn about the FUN of Fishing. Meet at the Visitor Center to learn how about fishing techniques. After some lessons we will transition to the catwalks over Bennetts Creek on Millpond Rd. for some fishing fun! Don't have a fishing license? Dont worry, July 4th 2019 is "Free Fishing Day" and a license is not required for this day.
