Events and Programs

Merchants Millpond State Park offers a variety of learning opportunities for all ages. Typically led by park rangers, these interpretive programs allow the public to gain perspective into what makes North Carolina state parks naturally wonderful. ​

Most of the events are free, though some require pre-registration. All give park visitors deeper insight into the natural world. Call the park office for more information.

 

August 24th will be the first annual 'National Track Trails Day' so come join a Ranger for a hike of the Coleman Trail! We will meet at the Boat Ramp at 1:00 PM and discuss the Kids in Parks program and Nature's Hide and Seek Track Program. The trail is an easy 2 mile loop and bring water, sturdy shoes, and insect repellent. For more information, please contact park staff at (252) 357-1191.

Animals are a wonder, we will be having a Interpretive Educational Program on keystone and trophic species.  The program will discuss in detail the effects of beavers at Merchants Millpond State Park and also the effects that wolves play at Yellowstone National Park.  For more infromation contact park staff at 252 357 1191.
