Scheduled events

Merchants Millpond State Park offers a variety of learning opportunities for all ages. Typically led by park rangers, these interpretive programs allow the public to gain perspective into what makes North Carolina state parks naturally wonderful. ​

Most of the events are free, though some require pre-registration. All give park visitors deeper insight into the natural world. Call the park office for more information.

 

Come join us for a short hike on Cypress Point Trail.  We will discuss the history and wildlife of the millpond.  For more information contact park staff at 252 357 1191.

Come join us for a short lecture on the importance of fire in an ecosystem.  We will also discuss the safety aspects of a control burn and if conditions allow preform a small control burn.  It may get smokey so dress appropriately.  For more information call park staff at 252 357 1191.

Meet at the Coleman trail head at 10:00 am to enjoy the last of winter! We will be hiking a 2 mile loop and looking for signs of animals. For more information feel free to contact park staff at 252-357-1191.
