Heritage Day News!

Medoc Mountain Heritage Day, Matt Chambers, Chet Nichols

Heritage Day 2018 is shaping up to be a great event!   We are glad to announce that Matt Chambers will be returning to this year’s event to provide musical entertainment.  Matt performed in 2016 during our centennial event and was well received.  This year we will also feature Chet Nichols who will be performing original music described as "Americana Roots."

Also new this year, The Haliwa-Saponi Native American Cultural Elder Group will be showcasing traditional eastern woodland Native American dancing and storytelling.   They will feature singing, drumming, indigenous instrument playing, and the history of the tribe.

Other returning artists and exhibitionist include Karen Harley from Red Earth Gallery painting and drawing, pottery with Senora Lynch, soap making with Bernadette Lee, Cryptozoologist Steven Barcelo, and Willis Richardson with the Benjamin and Lewis Historic Homestead.

Heritage Day will be held on Saturday, May 12th and will begin at 10 a.m.  Campsites are still available for the weekend but don’t wait to make reservations.   Be sure to check back for more updates for the lineup of events as we get closer to Heritage Day.
