There is a full blockage on Little Fishing Creek at the mouth of the Bear Swamp Creek. The exact location is: 36.25784, -77.88398 or approximately 1,000 feet downstream from Medoc State Park Road. Portaging around the blockage will be very difficult to almost impossible. Paddlers are encouraged to carry their canoes or kayaks over the foot bridge from the Discovery Loop to the Dam Site Loop and enter the creek there. Park staff may be able to assist with transporting canoes or kayaks to this location if arrangements are made prior to arriving at the park. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.Posted on: Thursday, August 17, 2017 - 8:20pm
